Pikmin Bloom steps not counting on iPhone

On iPhone, Pikmin Bloom doesn't count your steps — it reads them from Apple Health. So look at Health first. If today's steps are there, the iPhone is counting and the problem sits between Health and the game: a permission, or a sync that Niantic says can lag by up to several hours. If Health is empty too, the counting itself has stopped, and nothing inside the game will fix it.

First, look at Health

Open the Health app and tap the Browse tab, then Activity, then Steps; that is iOS 27. On iOS 26 there is no Browse tab: tap Search, the magnifying glass at the bottom right, then Activity, then Steps. Whether today has a number decides where to look next.

Steps are in Health, but not in the game

The iPhone is counting; Pikmin Bloom isn't receiving it. Check three things.

Health is empty too

Then the iPhone has stopped counting, and changing settings inside the game won't help.

Steps walked with an Apple Watch

On days you carry both, Health merges the two. Apple says that when several sources supply the same kind of data, the source at the top of the list wins; you can reorder them under Data Sources & Access, at the bottom of the Steps screen.

Where Angel Step fits

We make Angel Step, so take this as ours. It reads the same Health count as Pikmin Bloom, and puts today's number on your Home Screen and Lock Screen as a widget — so you can tell whether Health has your steps without opening anything. If the widget has a number and the game doesn't, the problem is on the game's side.

Questions

Why are my Pikmin Bloom steps not counting on iPhone?

On iPhone, Pikmin Bloom reads your steps from Apple Health rather than counting them itself. If today's steps are in Health, the cause is between Health and the game: the permission to read steps, or a sync that Niantic says can take up to several hours. If Health is empty too, the iPhone has stopped counting: check Fitness Tracking and Low Power Mode.

How long does Pikmin Bloom take to sync steps from Apple Health?

Niantic's help page says the sync from Apple Health can be delayed by up to several hours, and that restarting the app may speed it up.

Does Pikmin Bloom need location set to Always?

Niantic's troubleshooting steps for steps not counting on iOS include setting Location Services for Pikmin Bloom to Always.

Does Low Power Mode stop Pikmin Bloom counting steps?

Niantic says Low Power Mode can disable the sensors needed to track steps. If your steps stop, turn it off and check again.
